Mount Royal Ripper Strikes Again
European Union Signs Metahuman Rights Agreement HALIFAX, NB - The recent metahuman rights conference hosted by Canada has been a complete success, despite minor setbacks earlier. Many of the nations signing the document - giving rights to metahumans in their respective legal systems - are also calling for sanctions and other punitive actions against any nation still persecuting them. Extradition treaties with the United States, so far the worst offender, will no longer be recognised as valid.
Australia to Follow in Canada’s Metahuman Footsteps The Australian government is using Canada’s metahuman policies as a template for it’s own. It is encouraging metahumans to live in Australia and has extended an invitation for any super-powered beings wishing to help keep the peace to come work with the authorities with full benefits. When asked to comment on this leadership role she and her government seem to be in, Prime Minister Marion McCloud was quoted as saying "We did what was right; I’m glad we’re not the only ones who feel this way." The Australian PM said he followed the Canadian plan as "It made the most sense. Our countries are very similar in terms of size vs. population."
MEGA Crisis Finally Under Control Without the organisation and terror tactics of the gangs, Jesus Manson and the Mega Cult were taken down by Canadian Shield last year, and since then, police chief Macdonald said, "It’s been a lot easier to clean up the mess." Although there is little help available for those still addicted - the mortality rate remains high and more Mega induced "Mad Dog" metahumans are being created every day, with the primary source gone, "it’s only a matter of time."
Descendant Files Paternity Suit
First Extra-Special Olympics set for Vancouver, 2002 Since metahumans were banned from professional and amateur sporting competitions in 1991, there has been no way for the Genetically Altered to compete in world events - until now. This event, which will mirror the style of the Olympic Games, will only be open to those with exceptional abilities. "It will be quite a competition to watch, assuming the cameras can even follow it all," said Olympic officials. The American Baseball League has followed suit and will be organising an Out of This World Series all-star game this summer. |
