Quick & Dirty Usability Study - Text Field Data Entry

You have been selected for a quick study that will help the CAIQ Design team gather information about how users might be using our product.

This will only take about 5 minutes of your time.

We want you to pretend to be a TD CSO (a representative onboarding a business client) who is entering real data in a real form.

We will present you with three scenarios. In each, you are to enter text data in fields. The text is free-form and may or may not fit in the fields.

There are some visual clues that will tell you what you can do with the fields. It is these visual clues that we are studying.

We have provided some optional example data for you to enter manually (no copy/pasting!). This data is not part of the proposed UI.

There will be some questions about your preferences following the scenarios.

  1. Were you able to determine how much text you can enter in a field and/or why you couldn't enter anymore?
  2. Was there a differnece in speed?
  3. Were any of the scenarios more useful/informative or less useful?
  4. Do you prefer one scenario over the others?
  5. Are any more cluttered or clean?
